News Classical Theatre of Harlem's Seed Features Evans, Miller, Walker, Rollins The Classical Theatre of Harlem's workshop production of Seed, which was penned by Radha Blank, is currently playing the Harlem School of the Arts through Aug. 19.

Directed by Niegel Smith, the cast features Bridgit Antoinette Evans, Nikiya Mathis, Warner Miller, Tremayne Rollins and Pernell Walker.

"Burnt-out social worker Anne Colleen Simpson decides to write a book detailing the child welfare case that brought her acclaim," according to press notes. "But when Chee-Chee, a gifted ten-year-old from the last 'projects' in Anne's gentrified neighborhood, collides with her life, she is forced to confront the shadows of her past. As an unconventional friendship brews between Anne & Chee-Chee, his young mother Latonya becomes threatened, leading to an explosive encounter."

Seed features lighting design by Colin Young, set design by Tim Mackabee, costume design by Emily DeAngelis, sound design by Lugman Brown, projection design by Kate Freer and prop design by Pam Traynor.
