Classic Arts News Cleveland Orchestra Names Head of Miami Residency The Cleveland Orchestra has appointed Christina Littlejohn its director of residencies, a position in which she will manage the orchestra's activities in Florida.
The orchestra will spend three weeks each year, starting in January 2007, at the new Miami Performing Arts Center. The residency will include educational and family programs as well as a performance series. Littlejohn will work in Florida year-round, overseeing marketing, fundraising, and educational activities.

Orchestra officials, who have struggled to reach a balanced budget, hope to establish a new base of support in Florida.

Littlejohn has been the CEO of the Mobile Symphony since 1995. She previously worked at the Louisiana Philharmonic as audience development manager.
