The production, which began previews Jan. 17, officially opened Feb. 7. The drama played a total of 51 performances.

The cast comprises Ethan Hawke, Brooks Ashmanskas, Vincent D'Onofrio, Zoe Kazan, Stephanie Janssen, Mahira Kakkar, Aaron Krohn, Dana Lyn and playwright Sherman. Hawke also directed.

Inspired by Bertolt Brecht's inflammatory play Baal, Clive, according to press notes, "tracks a dissipated songwriter in 1990s New York City from the hedonistic heights of seduction and consumption into an ecstasy of self-destruction."

This production reunited playwright Sherman and director Hawke, who teamed previously at The New Group on Things We Want (written by Sherman, directed by Hawke, 2007 extended run).

The play also features music and sound sculptures by GAINES with live violin performance by Dana Lyn; set design by Derek McLane; costume design by Catherine Zuber; lighting design by Jeff Croiter; and sound design by Shane Rettig.

Tickets may be arranged through telecharge.com or (212) 239-6200, or at the Theatre Row Box Office (12–8 PM daily). Tickets are $60 plus $1.25 restoration fee.

The New Group at Theatre Row plays The Acorn Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street. For more information, visit thenewgroup.org.
