The 8 PM evening will offer a sneak peek of the new comedy by playwright-actor-director Michael Gene Sullivan. The four-person cast includes Leachman ("Raising Hope," "Young Frankenstein"), Madigan ("Field of Dreams," "Gone Baby Gone"), Malick ("Hot in Cleveland," "Just Shoot Me") and Smart ("Designing Women," "24"). Here's how Recipe is billed: "What do a group of middle-aged ex-hippies do to fight the good fight after the 'revolution' has long since ended? They bake! But old habits die hard and sometimes baking pies and cakes just isn't enough to satisfy the burning desire to shake up the establishment. For one night only, 'tune in, turn on, and drop out' with the ladies of The Morning Glory Baking Circle for Revolutionary Self Defense as they mix their special ingredients in a deliciously indulgent comedic romp."
A 6:30 PM dessert reception will precede the performance. Proceeds benefit the performance, new play development and education programs at Theatricum Botanicum.
For tickets, priced $100, phone (310) 455-3723 or visit theatricum.com. Theatricum Botanicum is located at 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd.
