Modern city-dwellers between 20 and 40 years of age clash in a sort of experimental field in Patrick Marber's play Closer.
The 33 year-old Brit is regarded as the most talented playwright of his generation. Last May in London, Closer became an immediate success with the public. Christof Loy directs this mounting of the play at the Munchner Kammerspiele, which opened on Feb. 1.
In twelve scenes Marber shows the pairing and parting of four people, the on and off battle of the sexes. The dialogue is funny, crazy and a bit vulgar.
