Adrian Noble, who has one West End hit on his hands — Chitty Chitty Bang Bang — will try for another with his production of Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket.

The play will star Rupert Graves, who has made a career playing good-looking men in period films ("A Room With A View," "Maurice") and plays as well as grittier, more modern roles, as in the stage version of Torch Song Trilogy. Graves made his Broadway debut in Closer and was seen two seasons ago in the acclaimed revival of The Elephant Man.

A spokesman for the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, said further details about casting and creative team will be released in a week or so.
