News Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale, Lonny Price, Ingrid Cole, Stephen Mitchell Brown Among 2012 Suzi Bass Award Winners The 8th Annual Suzi Awards Ceremony, which celebrates excellence in Metro Atlanta's professional theatre community, was held Nov. 5 at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center in DeKalb County. The Alliance Theatre took home top honors.

Twenty-one member theatres competed in 25 categories at the gala. The Alliance Theatre led with seven wins, and the Aurora Theatre took home six awards. Actor's Express was awarded Outstanding Production of a Musical for its production of Spring Awakening, and Theatrical Outfit's production of Red took home the award for Outstanding Production of a Play.

Nationally recognized director Lonny Price was awarded the Suzi for Outstanding Director of a Musical for his work on Clyde 'n Bonnie: A Folktale at Aurora Theatre. That production also took home the honor of Outstanding World Premiere Production. 

Ingrid Cole and Stephen Mitchell Brown were named Outstanding Lead Actress and Actor in a Musical for their roles in Atlanta Lyric Theatre's Gypsy and Legacy Theatre's Jane Eyre: The Musical, respectively. The husband-and-wife team of Tess Malis Kincaid and Mark Kincaid earned top honors in the Outstanding Lead Actress and Actor in a Play for their performances in Broke at the Alliance Theatre and Shipwrecked: An Entertainment at Serenbe Playhouse, respectively.

Winners were selected by an extended panel of judges that reviewed all nominated shows. Rob Cleveland served as master of ceremonies, with entertainment provided throughout the evening by performances from the five Production - Musical nominees.
