Broadway News Cody Simpson Extends Run in Broadway’s Anastasia The musical continues at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Cody Simpson, who made his Broadway debut in Anastasia November 29, 2018, at the Broadhurst Theatre, has extended his engagement in the musical based on the animated film for an eight additional weeks. Simpson will now play the role of Dmitry through April 14.

He is currently joined onstage by Christy Altomare in the title role, John Bolton, Penny Fuller, Constantine Germanacos, and Vicki Lewis.

Simpson burst onto the music scene in 2009 after being discovered and signed by Atlantic Records. He has gone on to release multiple records, tour with Justin Bieber, and created his new band, Cody Simpson & the Tide. He is in the process of releasing 22 new tracks and continues his environmental advocacy as the United Nations Development Programme’s Ocean Advocate.

Anastasia, which opened on Broadway in April 2017, features a book by Tony winner Terrence McNally and a score by Tony winners Stephen Flaherty (music) and Lynn Ahrens (lyrics). Tony winner Darko Tresnjak directs.
