News Coffee House Presents New Works by Russell, Barone and Bond Aug. 31 Coffee House is the title of the new series at the D-Lounge, the cabaret space located within The Daryl Roth Theatre complex on East 15th Street.

The monthly event, which will feature new works by playwrights, poets, short story writers and essayists, kicks off Aug. 31. The 7 PM evening is scheduled to include works by Joe Barone, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Ethan Kanfer, Josh Mcilvain, Bill Russell and Kyle Spearman. Each writer will present ten minutes worth of new material. Barone will offer ten minutes from his play Sandspots; Bond will read from his short story "My Friend"; Kanfer will present ten minutes from the play Tea Party; Mcilvain will offer his comic monologue "Cruise Ship"; Side Show's Russell will share some of his poetry; and Spearman will present ten minutes from his play Menu Driven.

Bond and Russell will present their work themselves, while actors will perform the other plays.
