News Colella and Gets to Join Jason Robert Brown for North Hollywood Concert Urban Cowboy’s Jenn Colella and A New Brain’s Malcolm Gets will join Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown for a March 12 concert in North Hollywood.

The 10 PM concert at the El Portal Theater will immediately follow that theatre’s production of Brown’s The Last Five Years. The Brown concert will also feature the Caucasian Rhythm Kings, with Gary Sieger on guitar and Randy Landau on bass.

Jason Robert Brown, who was the musical director and arranger for the musical Urban Cowboy, won the Tony Award for Best Score for his Broadway debut, Parade. His two-person musical, The Last Five Years, played a brief run at Off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre, and was preserved on Sh-K-Boom Records. Brown also composed the score for Songs for a New World and wrote incidental music for Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo, The Waverly Gallery and the Irish Repertory Theatre's production of Long Day's Journey Into Night.

Jenn Colella made her Broadway debut in Urban Cowboy, earning an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for her performance. She was seen as Pippi, the kleptomaniac stripper in the NYMF hit The Great American Trailer Park. Colella's other theatrical credits include roles in Peter Pan, Angels in America, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Company, Sylvia and Victor/Victoria.

Malcolm Gets was most recently on Broadway in the short lived Michel Legrand musical Amour. His other New York theatre credits include Finian's Rainbow, The Molière Comedies, Boys and Girls, A New Brain, Hello Again, Merrily We Roll Along, Two Gentlemen of Verona and the City Center Encores! production of The Boys From Syracuse. He spent four years as Richard on TV's "Caroline in the City," and his other screen credits include "Thirteen Conversations About One Thing" and "Love in the Time of Money." Gets can also be heard on Barbara Cook's "Mostly Sondheim" CD.
