News   Colin Hanks Joins Cast of Showtime's "Dexter"

Stage and screen actor Colin Hanks has signed on for a multi-episode arc in the sixth season of the Showtime series "Dexter," according to TVLine.com.

Hanks, who is set to appear in all 12 episodes of the season, will play Travis, "a highly intelligent expert on ancient artifacts who gets linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami." The Showtime series stars Michael C. Hall (Cabaret, Chicago, Skylight) in the title role and in the fifth season, according to Showtime, "Dexter [went] from happily married husband to guilt-ridden single dad." Dexter deals with his loss, a new relationship and his need to kill, which "overpowers his desire for human connection."

Hanks made his Broadway debut in 2009 opposite Jane Fonda in 33 Variations, for which he received a 2009 Theatre World Award. Hanks most recently starred on the cancelled Fox series, "The Good Guys," and is also known for his work on the AMC series "Mad Men."

The sixth season is set to debut in the fall. For more information and show times, click here.
