News Collins, Redgrave, Chalfant and Ballard to Be Honored at "Legends of the Village" Benefit Actresses Lynn Redgrave, Kathleen Chalfant and Kaye Ballard and singer Judy Collins are among the honorees at the upcoming "Legends of the Village" benefit.

Village Care of New York will hold the annual event Nov. 13 at New York City's Strata 6-9 PM.

"Legends of the Village" will be "honoring distinguished members of Greenwich Village for their generous contributions to the community and to Village Care, a not for-profit organization providing care and services to seniors and people living with HIV/AIDS," according to an announcement.

Village Care president and CEO Arthur Webb will present singer Judy Collins with the William F. Passannante Award for "her contributions to the world of entertainment and the New York community."

Reverend Monsignor Charles J. Fahey will also be recognized — with the Lenore Zola Award for community service — as well as those featured in Village Care of New York’s "2007 Legends" calendar: Redgrave, Chalfant, Ballard, journalist Jerry Talmer, poets Stanley Kunitz and Richard Howard, science-fiction author Samuel Delany, artist Chuck Close, Manhattan Councilwoman Carol Greitzer, civil rights activist Norma Becker, writer-teacher Harriet Sohmers-Zwerling and psychologist author George Weinberg.

Proceeds from the benefit will support Village Care's geriatric services in New York City. Tickets to the event at Strata, 915 Broadway (at 21st Street), are available by calling (212) 337-5750.
