Bay Area comedian Alicia Dattner's award-winning solo show The Oy of Sex begins New York previews March 29 at THE BRIDGE@ShetlerStudios in Manhattan.

Directed by Tom Bentley-Fisher, this romantic comedy about love addiction played to sold-out audiences at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, San Francisco Fringe Festival and San Francisco's Marsh Theatre, and was voted “Best of the Fest” at the San Francisco Fringe Festival.

Dattner turns her comedic gaze on her own sexuality as she takes the audience through ”an emotional escape artist’s” history of her love life. Starting out as a shy girl obsessed with Spin the Bottle, she graduates to the grown-up world of hook-ups, makeouts, and various forms of romantic misadventures as she deals with her desire for love and intimacy, and her fear of commitment.

She said, “It’s time to de-stigmatize love addiction and call it for what it is: our biggest All American pastime.”

The Oy of Sex is scheduled to open March 30 at THE BRIDGE@Shetler Studios (244 W. 54th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue) and run through April 17. All tickets for the March 29 preview are $10. All other tickets cost $20. For tickets and information go to Theoyofsex.com or call (212) 868-4444.
