The complete cast has been named for the upcoming tour of Sam Mendes' Cabaret, beginning performances Feb. 23 at the Wilshire Theatre in Los Angeles.

Star Teri Hatcher was long ago named in the lead role of Fraulein Sally Bowles. After briefly studying at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.), Hatcher has appeared in numerous films including: "The Big Picture," "Soapdish," "Straight Talk," "Heaven's Prisoners," "2 Days in the Valley," and a recent turn as the latest James Bond girl in "Tomorrow Never Dies." Cabaret marks her stage debut.

Joining her is co-star Norbert Leo Butz, best known for playing Roger in Broadway's Rent. He portrays the Emcee, the role originated by Joel Grey and currently being played by Alan Cumming at the Roundabout's Studio 54.

Sally's love interest, Clifford Bradshaw, will be performed by Rick Holmes, who recently played Jackie Jackson in The Deep Blue Sea at the Roundabout as well as appearing Off-Broadway in Stop Kiss, Christina Alberta's Father and Clean.

Dick Latessa plays Herr Schultz, with Barbara Andres as Fraulein Schneider. Broadway veteran Latessa who has recently appeared in Proposals, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Damn Yankees comes directly to Cabaret from Off Broadway's Over the River and Through the Woods. Andres made her Broadway debut in 1969 in Jimmy with roles in The Boyfriend, On Golden Pond, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Cabaret to follow. Andy Taylor plays Bradshaw's friend Ernst Ludwig. Taylor played several roles in Titanic and acted with Carol Burnett in Moon Over Buffalo.

Filling out the Kit Kat Klub's boys' and girls' ensemble are Jessica Perrizo (Rosie), Alison Ewing (Lulu), Lisa Ferguson (Frenchie), Shana Mahoney (Texas), Jeanie Morick (Fritzie/Fraulein Kost), Susan Taylor (Helga), Micahel Curry (Bobby), Thoma Cannizzaro (Victor), Paul Lincoln (Hans) and Corey Brill (Herman).

Tom Judson, Marc Rubman, Stacey Sipowicz and Jennifer Werner are the swings.

The multi-year tour of Cabaret will begin at the Wilshire, and play dates in Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Minneapolis, Toronto and San Francisco.

Other tour dates (subject to change) include:
Boston, MA: April 28 to June 6, 1999
Chicago, IL: June 8 to July 25, 1999
Washington D.C. : July 28 to Sept 5, 1999 (Hatcher leaves)
Toronto: Sept - Oct, 1999
Minneapolis, MN: Oct - Dec, 1999
San Francisco, CA: Begins Dec 1999

Specific dates for the Toronto, Minneapolis and San Francisco engagements are not yet set, but Hatcher will play Fraulein Bowles only up through the Washington DC engagement, which ends Labor Day weekend.

No word yet on who will play Sally for the Toronto, Minneapolis and San Francisco dates. Tour spokesperson Kevin Gurstein admitted the producers were in negotiations with actress Anne Heche for the role but told PBOL (Dec. 14) the deal had fallen through and she would not be joining the tour.

The Sam Mendes revival of the Kander and Ebb tuner opened on Broadway, March 19, 1998 at the Kit Kat Klub. The Roundabout revival originally starred Alan Cumming as the Emcee, Mary Louise Wilson as Fraulein Schneider and Natasha Richardson as Sally Bowles. Cumming returned from a hiatus on Dec. 1, joining the present cast of Jennifer Jason Leigh as Sally Bowles, Ron Rifkin as Herr Schultz, Blair Brown as Fraulein Schneider, John Benjamin Hickey (Boyd Gaines as of March 1) as Cliff, Denis O'Hare as Ernst and Michele Pawk as Fraulein Kost. After Leigh leaves, Mary McCormack (Howard Stern's "Private Parts" film) comes in. The show now plays at the larger Studio 54 space. For tickets call (212) 239-6200.
