Based on the novel by Stephen King, Carrie features a book by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford ("Footloose" and "Fame") and music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore ("Fame").

In a statement artistic director Jason Summers said, "Having a space that can so beautifully house contemporary musicals is a joy for us here at the Sandbox. As an intimate 100 seat theater, we can bring our audiences right in to the action. And with a musical like Carrie, that means bringing them close enough to scare the living hell out of them!"

Directed by Daniel Ferrante with musical direction by Stephen Ferri and choreography by Lexie Fennell Frare, the company will be headed by Jenna Dallacco as Carrie White and Paulette Oliva as Margaret White.

The cast also features the talents of Sarah Brown, David Cronin, Jara Gold, Devon Frieder, Melissa Rose Hirsch, Chris Hlinka, Kevin Ray Johnson, Max King, Kayleigh Powell, Alexandra Schwartz, Shawn William Smith and Jonathan Stevens.
