News "Compliance" Star Shakes Up Dream Marriage in Off-Broadway Premiere of Night is a Room Signature Theatre has announced casting for its world premiere production of Night is a Room by Naomi Wallace. Included in the three-hander is Ann Dowd, who is known for films like American thriller "Compliance" and rom-com "Marley and Me," as well as the TV series HBO's "The Leftovers" and "Masters of Sex."

Dowd is set to play Doré, who lives an isolated existence in her modest flat. Both hers and the worlds of Liana and Marcus, the perfect couple, are shaken following a surprise reunion on Marcus' 40th birthday. It is described as a "searing exploration of love’s power to both ruin and remake our lives."

In a production directed by Bill Rauch, Dowd is joined by Dagmara Dominczyk (Golden Boy) and Bill Heck, who was recently featured in the Broadway revival of production of Cabaret.

Night is a Room the third and final production of Wallace’s playwriting residency at the Signature Theatre. Performances will run Nov. 3-Dec. 13 with an official opening night set for Nov. 22.

The design team includes Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Clint Ramos (costume design), Jen Schriever (lighting design), Leah Gelpe (sound design) and Charlotte Fleck (dialect coach). Cole P. Bonenberger is the production stage manager. Casting by Telsey + Company, Karyn Casl, CSA.
