Numerous composers are expected to participate in a special "cross genre" showcase titled "Thru the Walls," sponsored by the ASCAP Foundation. The even takes place at the Cutting Room in New York City on Jan. 31 at 7 PM. Reflecting a growing movement in music, where composers and lyricists are promoting much broader definitions than ever before for such terms as "musical theatre," talents such as Martha Mooke, Randolph Hudson, Eve Beglarian, Kathy Supove, Margaret Lancaster, Phile Kline, Ben Neill and Jim Mussen are expected to explore a variety of musical and theatrical motifs.

Cover charge for the "Thru the Walls" showcase is $12. The event takes place at The Cutting Room, located at 19 W. 24 St. between Broadway and Sixth Avenue. For information call (212) 621-8472.
