Produced by Morris Gilbert and OCESA, the hit comedy Confesiones de Mujeres de 30 (Confessions from Women in their 30´s) by Domingo Jose Soares de Oliveira, based on true stories by Nisker, Rozenbaum, Morthe, Bernardelli, Dreize and Proenca, celebrated 300 performances Jan. 8 at the Teatro El Telon de Asfalto in Mexico City. It's a tradition in Mexico to celebrate each 100 performances of a show by inviting special guests onto the stage to unveil a commemorative engraved plate after the performance. This time the celebrities invited for the ceremony were Diana Bracho (who will star in Gilbert's next production, Master Class) and Hector Bonilla, who currently stars in the Mexican production of Yasmina Reza's Art.
The three actresses in their 30´s starring in Confesiones are Laura Luz, Zaide Silvia Gutierrez and Ana Karina Guevara. In this comedy the audience explores the life of these three common Latin-American women in their mid-30´s as they talk about love, frustrations, achievements, pleasures and of course, men.
At the 300th performance of Confesiones, producer Morris Gilbert announced that Argentine director Lia Jelin (who directed Confesiones in Argentina and Mexico) will arrive in Mexico City in February to stage the Mexican version of the Buenos Aires hit play Nosotras, Que Nos Queremos Tanto (Us, Who Love So Much Each Other).
Confesiones is playing on Thurs. at 8:30 PM, Fri. at 7:45 PM & 9:30 PM, Sat. at 7 PM and 9 PM and Sun. at 6 PM & 8 PM. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster at (52-5) 325-9000.
