Denver Center Attractions presents a new production of the Off-Broadway and regional favorite, The Taffetas, opening March 10 at The Garner Galleria Theatre following previews from March 6.

A cast of local performers, including Reyna Von Vett, Elizabeth Welch, Juliana Black and Melinda Dickson, play the four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana.

The Taffetas is directed and choreographed by Ray Roderick. Michelle Sergeeff and Shannan Steele are understudies. The long run goes to Aug. 5 in the intimate cabaret space.

"In The Taffetas, it's 1950-something and Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna are making their national television debut, providing the framework for an evening featuring some of the greatest hits of the '50s," according to DCA. "A nostalgic nod to girl groups of the era, The Taffetas pays tribute to the sounds of The Maguire Sisters, The Fontaine Sisters and The Chordettes.

Rick Lewis created, arranged, wrote and directed the Off-Broadway musical in 1988. It premiered at the Cherry Lane Theatre and moved to the Village Gate. The original cast featured Jody Abrahams, Karen Curlee, Melanie Mitchell and Tia Speros.
