News Cook Reschedules Barnes and Noble Appearance for January 2009 Tony Award winner Barbara Cook will perform highlights from her latest recording, "Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder," at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble on Jan. 6, 2009.

Cook will also be on hand to autograph copies of the new DRG recording. The performance and signing will begin at 7:30 PM. The album's musical director, Lee Musiker, will accompany Cook for the live performance.

(The Broadway legend canceled her November in-store appearance due to a bad cold.)

"Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder" marks Cook's 14th recording for the DRG label.

Barbara Cook made her Broadway debut in 1951's Flahooley, after which the legendary soprano won further acclaim originating roles in Plain and Fancy, She Loves Me and Candide. Cook won a Tony Award for her performance as Marian Paroo in The Music Man. In the second act of her career, she appeared (and continues to) at concert and cabaret venues in New York City and around the country. Cook celebrated her 80th birthday in fall 2007 with three sold-out concerts with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.
