Michael Frayn's Copenhagen, which won the 2000 Tony for Best Play, will tour the United States, producer Elizabeth McCann said backstage at the Tonys. McCann said no details had been worked out, including starting dates and scheduled cities.

Copenhagen also won for Best Director of a Play (Michael Blakemore) and Best Featured Actress (Blair Brown). Blakemore will repeat his duties on the tour. McCann said the casting will be up to Blakemore.

The Frayn work has emerged as the most acclaimed new play of the season. The three-character drama concern a real-life 1941 meeting between two world famous physicists, one Danish and one German, and imagines the nature and ramifications of the conversation-cum-confrontation that took place. The play has also won the Drama League and Drama Desk Awards for best play and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for best foreign play.

The current Broadway cast features Philip Bosco, Michael Cumpsty and Blair Brown.
