Judy Campbell is appearing at the King's Head, Islington, beginning Dec. 10 in Where Are The Songs We Sung?, a two-hander in which she is accompanied by Stefan Bednarczyk.

The evening (which has a press night on Dec. 11 and runs through Dec. 22) sees Judy Campbell recall her amazing career. The classic wartime song, "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" was written for her and has been her theme tune for 60 years.

She toured wartime Britain with Noël Coward in Blithe Spirit, This Happy Breed and Present Laughter, episodes in a long theatrical career that are recalled with warmth and humor.

Stefan Bednarczyk, who plays the piano and acts alongside her, is one of Britain's most versatile cabaret performers, actors and writers. He is co-author of Dick Barton at the Croydon Warehouse and is a regular performer of Coward's songs. His one-man tribute to 50's song and sketch act Flanders and Swan was a sell-out at Jermyn Street Theatre, the venue where Where Are the Songs We Sung originated.
