Neil LaBute's dark and murderous bash makes its way to Boston April 19-May 5, where the three short plays, all part-drama, part sick comedy, run at the Black Box Theatre in the Boston Center for the Arts. The Coyote Theatre Company mounting is staged by artistic director Jeffrey Mousseau.

Playwright-film director LaBute, known for his harsh, dark movies, "In the Company of Men" and "Your Friends and Neighbors," penned three one-acts on the subject of morality, and the 1999 Off Broadway premiere starring Calista Flockhart, Paul Rudd and Ron Eldard, was a hot ticket. bash, which the Mormon LaBute subtitled "latter-day plays," includes Medea Redux, in which a Midwestern woman confesses a tale of seduction and betrayal to her son, on his way to meet his father for the first time; Iphegenia in Orem, in which a corporate husband and father confesses an unspeakable act of cruelty to a stranger in a hotel room; and A Gaggle of Saints, a memory piece about fresh-faced American youths, who, after an evening party in Manhattan, brutally attack a gay man.

Laura Latreille, Scott Barrow and Bill Mootos star in the Boston bash. Designing the show are Amanda Wager (set), John Malinowski (lighting), Kristen Glans (costumes) and J. Hagenbuckle (sound).
