San Francisco's Campo Santo and Intersection for the Arts presents the world premiere of Erin Cressida Wilson's The Trail of Her Inner Thigh, June 2 - 28.
Trail of Her Inner Thigh tells the story of one man and four women who are searching for the meaning of love, of family and of identity. Kasper, a young Chicano, sets out to honor his dying mother's request that he find the daughter he has never met. Patricia was a 31-year-old junkie when she met 15 year-old Kasper and wanted only that he give her something to love -- a daughter named Jolene. Crossing through space and time, Jolene looks for what a father is while searching for Kasper.
The play was originally commissioned by the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and was featured in their New Play Lab in 1998.
Rhodessa Jones and Margo Hall will co-direct the production, which will feature an original score by jazz notable Marcus Shelby. The cast features Selana Allen, Fe Bongolan. Rachelle Mendez, Sean San Jose and Lisa Steindler.
Erin Cressida Wilson is a member of New Dramatists and had her latest piece, The Erotica Project, open the new cabaret space at The Public Theatre.
