News Crime and Punishment, with Emmy Nominee Stewart, Begins Cleveland Run Feb. 27 The Cleveland Play House production of the classic Dostoevsky work Crime and Punishment begins performances at the Drury Theatre Feb. 27.

Anders Cato directs the 90-minute adaptation penned by Marilyn Campbell and Curt Columbus. Crime and Punishment officially opens March 4 and runs through March 22.

Paul Anthony Stewart, who recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof and received an Emmy nomination for his work on "Guiding Light," stars as Raskolnikov, with Lethia Hall as Sonia and Patrick Husted as Porfiry.

Cleveland Play House press notes describe Crime and Punishment as "a startlingly complex examination of man's capacity for cruelty and the redemptive power of goodness. In this electrifying 90-minute adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's masterpiece audiences enter the tortured world of Raskolnikov, one of the most fascinating figures in all of literature. What has he done? Why has he done it? And of what are any of us capable? These haunting questions are intricately woven into a stark, bracing and stunningly theatrical production that takes the audience on a heart-racing journey into the mind of a criminal."

Designing the production are Lee Savage (scenic design), Olivera Gajic (costume design), Jeff Davis (lighting design) and James C. Swonger (sound design).
