News Crista Moore Rubs Stars From Eyes and Wings Away Crista Moore, once of Big and the Tyne Daly revival Gypsy, has left the Off-Broadway musical, Stars in Your Eyes, to take a featured role in Broadway's forthcoming Waiting in the Wings starring Lauren Bacall.

Crista Moore, once of Big and the Tyne Daly revival Gypsy, has left the Off-Broadway musical, Stars in Your Eyes, to take a featured role in Broadway's forthcoming Waiting in the Wings starring Lauren Bacall.

Her final performance in the musical fable about lovers in the 1960s and the influence of "the man in the moon," with songs and libretto by Chip Meyrelles, was Nov. 6. Donna Lynne Champlin (Reunion) now has the role of Leigh Hunt-Smith in Stars.

Moore plays Zelda, a journalist, in Wings, by Noel Coward.

The cast at the Cherry Lane Theatre also includes Heather Mac Rae (Falsettos), Barbara Walsh (Falsettos), Christy Carlson Romano (Parade), David M. Lutken (The Civil War), James Stovall (a recent Coalhouse Walker in Ragtime) and veteran actor John Braden (The Changing Room, Mary Mary).

Gabriel Barre, a performer in Ain't Broadway Grand and a busy director Off-Broadway and regionally, directs. The musical opened Oct. 24 following previews that began Oct. 1. Tom Wirtshafter and Planetearth Partners are producing, with Jennifer Paulson Lee providing the choreography.

Designing the twinkle of Stars are James Youmans (set), Tim Hunter (lighting) and Pamela Scofield (costumes). Georgia Stitt serves as musical director.
