News Crosby Replaces Ziemba in Barrington Follies Kim Crosby, who created the role of Cinderella in the original Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, will soon be seen in another Sondheim classic.

Crosby, a spokesperson for the theatre confirmed, has replaced the previously announced Karen Ziemba as Sally Durant in the Barrington Stage Company's upcoming production of Follies. Directed by Julianne Boyd, Follies — in celebration of Sondheim's 75th birthday — will play June 23 through July 16.

Crosby joins a cast that includes Donna McKechnie (Carlotta), Jeff McCarthy (Ben), Leslie Denniston (Phyllis), Lara Teeter (Buddy), Eric Ulloa (Young Ben), John Patrick (Young Buddy), Nili Bassman (Young Phyllis), Elise Molinelli (Young Sally), Diane Findley (Stella), Diane Houghton (Hattie), Marni Nixon (Heidi), Gordon Stanley (Dmitri), Natalie Mosco (Emily Whitman) and David Young (Theodore Whitman).

Follies, which was revived on Broadway in 2001 with a cast led by Judith Ivey, Blythe Danner, Treat Williams, Gregory Harrison and Polly Bergen, is set in a dilapidated theatre about to be torn down and features a book by James Goldman. The musical premiered at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre in April 1971 with a score that boasts such tunes as "Beautiful Girls," "Broadway Baby," "In Buddy's Eyes," "I'm Still Here," "Could I Leave You?," "Losing My Mind" and "Who's That Woman?" Among the original cast were Dick Latessa, Alexis Smith, Yvonne De Carlo, John McMartin, Gene Nelson and Dorothy Collins.

Kim Crosby has been seen on Broadway in Jerry's Girls, Into the Woods and Guys and Dolls. She previously played the Barrington as Lily Garland in the theatre company's mounting of On the Twentieth Century.
