As previously announced, Alan Cumming will host the New York GLAAD Awards, and Comedian Bruce Vilanch will host in San Francisco.
As part of the Los Angeles ceremony, Golden Globe-winning actress Drew Barrymore will be presented with the Vanguard Award, given to media professionals who have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community. Barrymore receives the award for her portrayal of a lesbian daughter of a widower in the film "Everybody's Fine," and for her vocal support of marriage equality issues.
Actress and comedian Wanda Sykes will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak award, presented to an openly LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting the community's equal rights.
The evening will also include special appearances by Benjamin Bratt, Elizabeth Keener and Rob Halford.
The GLAAD Media Awards, according to their website, "recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives." For more information on the evening, visit the event website here.
