Tony-nominated actors Reg Rogers and Enid Graham star alongside Angelina Phillips, Michael Lombard and James Joseph O'Neill in the Classic Stage Company's first production of the 1999-2000 season, John Osborne's modern classic, Look Back in Anger, which began previews Oct. 6, opens Oct. 17 and runs through Nov. 14.

Directed by Jo Bonney (Stop Kiss), Look Back in Anger was written in the '50s and is the story of Jimmy Porter (Reg Rogers) who lives in a cramped flat with his wife Alison (Graham), his trumpet and his rage, which finds expression in " a ferocious wit [that] stokes a crucible of fury and burns a change in the lives of everyone around him. "

Look Back was first performed in the opening season of the English Stage Company at the Royal Court Theatre in 1956 and later on Broadway in 1957. The work and its author helped usher in England's "Angry Young Man" period of theatre. The Classic Stage production is one of the only major productions of the work in 20 years.

Performances run Oct. 6-Nov. 14, Tue. - Sat. at 8 PM, Sat. and Sun. matinees at 3 PM. There will be an additional performance on Sun. Oct. 10 at 7 PM. There will be no Sun. matinee on Oct. 17; there will be no Sat. matinees on Oct. 23 or 30. Opening night is Oct. 17 at 7 PM.
