News   CTG's Bengal Tiger Begins Previews May 10; Kaufman Directs Moisés Kaufman, currently represented on Broadway with his new play 33 Variations, directs Rajiv Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, which begins previews May 10 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, CA.

Presented by Center Theatre Group, the production will officially open May 17. Performances continue through June 7.

The cast comprises Glenn Davis, Brad Fleischer, Arian Moayed, Kevin Tighe, Hrach Titizian, Sheila Vand and Necar Zadegan.

Bengal Tiger, according to press notes, is a "lyrical, haunting new play set against the backdrop of the war in Iraq, in which the lives and, in some cases, the afterlives of two American soldiers, an Iraqi translator, the ghost of Saddam Hussein's son Uday, and a Bengal tiger all intersect in a surreal, darkly humorous and gently balanced view of war and its aftermath."

The production features set design by Derek McLane, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by David Lander and sound design by Cricket S. Myers. Kathryn Bostic serves as composer; the production stage manager is Vanessa J. Noon.
