News CTG's Bengal Tiger Opens May 17; Kaufman Directs Moisés Kaufman, currently represented on Broadway with his new Tony-nominated play 33 Variations, directs Rajiv Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, which officially opens May 17 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, CA.

Presented by Center Theatre Group, the production began previews May 10. Performances continue through June 7.

The cast includes Glenn Davis, Brad Fleischer, Arian Moayed, Kevin Tighe, Hrach Titizian, Sheila Vand and Necar Zadegan.

Bengal Tiger, according to CTG, is a "lyrical, haunting new play set against the backdrop of the war in Iraq, in which the lives and, in some cases, the afterlives of two American soldiers, an Iraqi translator, the ghost of Saddam Hussein's son Uday, and a Bengal tiger all intersect in a surreal, darkly humorous and gently balanced view of war and its aftermath."

The production features set design by Derek McLane, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by David Lander and sound design by Cricket S. Myers. Kathryn Bostic serves as composer; the production stage manager is Vanessa J. Noon.

Tickets are available by calling (213) 628-2772 or by visiting www.CenterTheatreGroup.org. The Kirk Douglas Theatre is located at 9820 Washington Blvd. in Culver City, CA.
