News Cue the Camel! 2012 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Begins Nov. 9; Rockettes Go 3D The 2012 production of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular — the opulent holiday musical revue, complete with live nativity and high-kicking Rockettes (in their 85th year) — begins Nov. 9 at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. The engagement, playing to Dec. 30, features new choreography and favorite numbers that have been part of the show since it began.

A new "experiential archive exhibit" at the hall commemorates the history of the Rockettes.

Linda Haberman, director and choreographer of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, said in an earlier statement, "Each year I strive to move both the Rockettes and the Christmas Spectacular forward by providing our audiences with fresh, contemporary and innovative content, while still maintaining the show's rich heritage. The 2012 Christmas Spectacular…will take the Rockettes signature precision dance technique to new levels by showcasing both the women's strength and athleticism."

Expect a "3Dlive" scene, which incorporates 3D elements interacting with live performance, with Rockettes taking "audiences on a whimsical journey battling 'humbugs,' gingerbread men and an ice monster who have stolen all the Christmas toys."

The classics "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and "The Living Nativity" are also part of the Spectacular.

Prices range from $46-$250. Tickets can be purchased online at RadioCityChristmas.com. Radio City Music Hall is at 50th Street and Sixth Avenue.
