EW.com states that Cumming's character - image consultant Eli Gold, hired to rehabilitate the reputation of a disgraced politician (Noth) - will be around full time in the show's upcoming second season. As previously reported, Cumming has also been announced to play The Green Goblin in the new Julie Taymor/Bono musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. The show was originally scheduled to begin previews in February 2010 with an official opening in March, but was delayed late last year for financial reasons. No new dates have been announced.
Cumming made his Broadway debut as the Emcee in the Sam Mendes-helmed revival of Cabaret opposite Natasha Richardson, for which he won a Tony Award. Other Broadway credits include The Threepenny Opera and Design for Living. Among his notable film credits are the James Bond film "GoldenEye," "The Anniversary Party" and "X-Men 2." His many television appearances include roles on "The L Word" and "God, the Devil and Bob."
"The Good Wife" airs Wednesdays on CBS.
