Straight--or better said-- directly from its successful 6 month run at Los Angeles' Celebration Theatre, Cyberqueer is getting ready to open at Chicago's Bailiwick Arts Center, as part of their award-winning Pride Series, running Oct. 27-Dec 1. The show is a thoroughly nineties comedy about sex and longing and mistaken identity on the internet. It is playing concurrently with Splintered, a collection of plays previously unseen by Chicago audiences, by well-known playwrights. Plays in Splintered include Scraped by Scott McPherson, The Moonshot by Lanford Wilson, Pagan Days by Sally Nemeth and Bad Dream by Craig Lucas. All four have gay or lesbian themes.

A free reading of Jon David's Success in Numbers will be performed at 8pm on Thursdays and Fridays in November.

Cyberqueer runs Fridays and Saturday at 10pm; Sunday 7:30 pm, Oct. 27-Dec 1. Splintered runs Monday and Tuesdays 8pm , through Nov. 27. For tickets or more info, call (773) 883-1090. --By Blair Glaser
