News Cynthia Erivo Gives Beyonce's "Single Ladies" a Shakespearean Twist Color Purple star Cynthia Erivo joined a host of actors on Twitter in giving favorite pop songs a Shakespearean twist. The trend, which goes by the hashtag #15secondshakespeare, involves reading the song lyrics with the same intensity usually given to the Bard's verse.

#15secondshakespeare was debuted by British actress Amanda Abbington Sept. 20 with her re-interpretation of Pharell's no.1 hit, "Happy."
