The American Theatre Wing has announced a series of new appointments to its Board of Trustees and Advisory Committee. The Color Purple Tony winner Cynthia Erivo and Emmy nominee Lucy Liu will join the Board of Trustees, and Linda Cho and Oskar Eustis are among the new names on the Advisory Committee.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body responsible for oversight of all of the Wing’s activities and overall well-being. The Advisory Committee provides support and guidance to the board and staff of the Wing as they implement the organization’s goals and objectives.
Liu, known for her screen roles in Kill Bill and Elementary, made her Broadway debut in 2010 in God of Carnage. Cho won a Tony Award for her costume design for A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder; her work can currently be seen on Broadway in Anastasia. Eustis has served as the artistic director of The Public Theater since 2005.
Rounding out the new additions to the Board of Trustees are Fred P. Hochberg, Lucy Liu, Lee H. Perlman, and Evan Shapiro. Joining Cho and Eustis as members of the Advisory Committee are Pamela Barbey, Laurie Brockway Bodor, Jeffrey Bolton, Nicole Eisenberg, Ty Stiklorius, Emily Tow Jackson, and Nadine Wong.
“I am incredibly honored to be working with the extraordinary people who serve on the Wing’s Board and Advisory Committee,” President Heather Hitchens says in a statement. “These latest appointments are outstanding additions—each new member is tremendously accomplished and dedicated. I look forward to working with all of them in the months and years ahead.”
