Film & TV News Cynthia Erivo Will Sing at Oscars’ Governors Ball The Tony-winning Color Purple star will perform as part of the post-Academy Awards celebration.

Tony Award-winning Color Purple star Cynthia Erivo will perform as part of the Governors Ball, the official post-Oscars celebration February 26 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles.

In addition to Erivo, the evening will feature recording artist JoJo, Emmy-nominated music director Rickey Minor, and husband-and-wife deejays DJ M.O.S. and DJ Kiss.

Erivo recently performed at the 2017 Grammy Awards alongside John Legend. After winning the Tony Award for playing Celie in the acclaimed revival of The Color Purple, Erivo has lined up a host of film projects including a starring role in Harriet, the Harriet Tubman biopic; and Steve McQueen’s Widows, starring opposite Viola Davis.
