Babe the Sheep Pig, subject of book and film, opens Dallas Children's Theatre's 1998-99 season, Sept. 25, for a run through Oct. 18. The story of a pig raised as a sheepdog who learns to herd sheep, Babe was originally Dick King-Smith's novel, which King-Smith later co-adapted into the hit film, Babe. Babe won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, as well as being nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

This version of the book was adapted by David Wood. Dallas Children's Theatre's production marks its American stage premiere.

Babe will be performed at the El Centrol College Theatre at Main and Market Streets. Tickets are $10 for children and $12 for adults and be reserved by calling (214) 978-0110.
