Tony Award nominee Andre De Shields is the devilish Applegate in the Engeman Theater production of Damn Yankees, which officially opens July 10 in Long Island.

John Simpkins (Bloodsong of Love) stages the classic Faustian baseball musical by Richard Adler, Jerry Ross, Douglass Wallop and George Abbott that will run through Aug. 10.

In addition to De Shields (The Full Monty, Play On!) the cast features Felicia Finley (The Wedding Singer, Happy Days) as Lola, Austin Miller ("Grease: You're the One That I Want") as Joe Hardy, Stephen Berger as Van Buren, Scott Davidson as Joe Boyd, Jan Leigh Herndon as Meg and Rebecca Kupka Overton as reporter Gloria Thorpe.

Completing the Damn Yankees cast are William C. Bailey , Solomon Buchman, Amanda Trusty, Rebecca Stavis, Bronson N. Murphy, James Lee Glatz, James Erickson, Jeremy Morse, Zander Meisner, Andrew Leggieri, Amy Jane Finnerty, Kristen da Costa, Ashley Chasteen, Jason "Sweet Tooth" Williams and Freddie Kimmel.

Stephanie Lang choreographs with musical direction by Mark Hartman. The design team also includes Michael Schweikardt (set design), Michelle Eden Humphrey (costume design), Joel E. Silver (lighting design) and Kate Miller (sound design).
