AGMA president Alan Gordon said that the union had dropped the complaint in order to "give the company time to prove to us that they want to deal in good faith."

In a statement, a spokesperson for Ballet West speculated that AGMA had withdrawn its complaint because the NLRB had informed the union that it was preparing to rule in management's favor.

"We believe we have always operated in good faith and welcome the withdrawal of the charge," Ballet West executive director Johann Jacobs said. "We look forward to reaching a fair and mutually beneficial agreement with our dancers."

Contract talks will resume on August 15, according to the company.
