Variety reports that the Weinstein Company, which produces the screen debut of the Rob Marshall-helmed "Nine," has inked a deal with Disney/ABC to cross-promote the film in various media outlets, including television spots and on ABC.com.
One of the major plugs will come when "Dancing with the Stars" presents a dance number set to "Be Italian," which is performed by Fergie in the film. The "Dancing with the Stars" performance will include costumes from "Nine."
"Nine" will also be incorporated into story lines on "All My Children," "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital," while a two-minute trailer of the film will run on Lifetime, ABC Family, SoapNet, A&E, Bio, and during the American Music Awards.
ABC.com, which will stream the trailer and host a "Nine" sweepstakes, will reveal a 30-minute "Making of 'Nine'" featurette in the coming weeks.
