News Daniel Kutner Will Direct Japanese-Language All My Sons; Casting Announced Daniel Kutner, the resident assistant director to Tony winner Harold Prince, will direct a Japanese-language production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons in December.

Translated by Miyoko Ito, the classic drama will be seen at the New National Theater in Tokyo Dec. 2-18 followed by a run in Osaka at Sankei Hall Breeze Dec. 20-21. The cast will comprise Kyozo Nagatsuka as Joe Keller, Rei Asami as Kate Keller, Yusei Tajima as Chris Keller, Hikaru Asami as Ann Deever, Tasuku Emoto as George Deever, Daisuke Ryu as Jim Bayliss, Yorie Yamashita as Sue Bayliss, Masaki Kaji as Frank Lubey and Akane Hamasaki as Lydia Lubey.

"Joe Keller (Kyozo Nagatsuka) and Herbert Deever, partners in a machine shop during the war, turned out defective airplane parts, causing the deaths of many men," according to press notes. "Deever was sent to prison while Keller escaped punishment and went on to make a lot of money. In a work of tremendous power, a love affair between Keller's son, Chris (Yuse Tajima), and Ann Deever (Hikaru Asami), Herbert's daughter, the bitterness of George Keller, who returns from the war to find his father in prison and his father's partner free, and the reaction of a son to his father's guilt escalate toward a climax of electrifying intensity."
