The seemingly unstoppable playwright Daniel MacIvor appears to be unbowed by the shortened Off-Broadway commercial run of his See Bob Run. On Sept. 27, he will return to the stage with his latest work, In On It, to premiere at P.S. 122 at Sept. 27 for a run through Oct. 21. What's more, MacIvor will star in the production.
MacIvor last appeared on stage at P.S. 122 in 1999, as an actor in his own play Monster. The following year, his work Never Swim Alone transferred from the New York International Fringe Festival to Off Broadway's Soho Playhouse. See Bob Run also transferred from the Fringe (2000 edition) to an small Off-Off-Broadway berth at the Red Room to a commercial run at Rattlestick Theater. The Rattlestick production was cut short owing to less than positive reviews.
In On It, which also stars Darren O'Donnell, concerns a dying man busy making plans, two lovers working their relationship out and two gay men laboring over a play.
Tickets are $17-$20. P.S. 122 is located at 150 First Avenue in the East Village. Call (212) 477-5288.
