News Daniel Radcliffe Will Star in Upcoming British Film "Gold" Stage and screen actor Daniel Radcliffe will star in the upcoming British film "Gold," about the rivalry of Olympic middle-distance runners Sebastian Coe and Steve Ovett leading up to the 1980 Moscow games, according to Deadline.com.

Radcliffe, best known for playing Harry Potter in the feature film series of the same name, has been tapped to play Sebastian Coe.

James Watkins, who worked with Radcliffe on "The Woman in Black," will direct from a screenplay penned by Simon Beaufoy and Will Davies. The project was developed by BBC Films and the BFI with AL Films.

Joanna Anderson, Vicky Licorish and Kevin Loader are producing "Gold," which is scheduled to shoot in the U.K. and Russia in April.

Radcliffe, who starred in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, has also been seen on Broadway in Equus.
