With only 19 days until Election Day 2016, Broadway for Hillary is gearing up its efforts.
Actor-writers Kate Wetherhead and Andrew Keenan-Bolger (also known for their web series Submissions Only) have released a video of Broadway talent “auditioning” for Trump on Broadway!
Six-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein (Fiddler on the Roof), Colin Hanlon (Falsettos), Drama Desk winner Jose Llana (The King and I), Drama Desk nominee Margo Seibert (In Transit), Ariana DeBose (Hamilton), three-time Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Waitress), Tony nominee Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along...), Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin), and three-time Tony nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger (The Cherry Orchard) all appear in the video as actors looking to book the role of Trump.
At the end of the video, those auditioning read “the other role.”
Broadway for Hillary is the movement within the community to get Hillary Clinton elected to the presidency. The initiative has held events to get members of the community to make calls for the campaign and assisted in putting on the October 17 event, Stronger Together, in which notable performers and creatives led a night of songs and speeches to support the Democratic nominee.
