The evening, which begins at 7 PM, celebrates the work of Jonathan Larson Award-winning composer Sam Davis. Vocalists for the evening include Sarah Aili, Sarah Corey, Drew Pournelle, Stuart Matthew Price and Tricia Tanguy.

Davis will accompany each performer on selections from his songbook and will offer stories about the songs. Paul Staroba is the musical director.

The New Voices series was founded by composer Scott Alan to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York." Alan's debut recording, "Dreaming Wide Awake" — which features performances by Liz Callaway, Stephanie J. Block, Eden Espinosa, Cheyenne Jackson and Jonathan Groff, among others — is available by visiting www.scottalan.net. His new CD, "Keys: The Music of Scott Alan," is also now available.

Darius de Haas has appeared on Broadway in Marie Christine, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Carousel, Rent and The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm. He created the title role in Running Man for which he received an Obie Award, and his other theatrical credits include The Bacchae, Saturn Returns, Children of Eden, Once On This Island and I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky. De Haas was also part of the benefit Hair and Pippin concerts. His debut solo recording, on the PS Classics label, is titled "Day Dream: Variations on Strayhorn."

Sam Davis is a composer, conductor, pianist and arranger. He is the music director for the current national tour of Dreamgirls and was conductor for the Broadway productions of Curtains, The Apple Tree, Follies and Cabaret. His composing credits include The Scottish Musical (Penn State New Musicals Festival), Dysfunctional Fables (Orlando Fringe Festival) and A Good Boy (workshopped at the University of Michigan). He is recording an album of his own songs due out from PS Classics this fall. The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street.
