News Darius de Haas to Celebrate New Recording with Manhattan Concert Darius de Haas (Kiss of the Spider Woman, Carousel, Rent) will perform alongside musician Steven Blier at Merkin Concert Hall April 28 at a one-night-only concert event that will feature music from Blier and de Haas' new recording, "Quiet Please."

"Quiet Please," the new Bridge Records CD produced by Jamie Bernstein and Harold Chambers, features songs from the Great American Songbook as well as contemporary pop and jazz standards.

Songs from the CD that will be included in the 8 PM performance are George Gershwin’s “I’ve Got a Crush on You,” Richard Rodgers’ “Glad to Be Unhappy,” Stevie Wonder’s “If It’s Magic" and Adam Guettel’s “Hero and Leander.”

Blier is the artistic director of the New York Festival of Song and has programmed, performed, translated and annotated over 125 vocal recitals. He has been working musically with de Haas for ten years.

De Haas is known for his work on Broadway as well as his performance in the premiere production of Children of Eden at New Jersey's Papermill Playhouse.
