Co-creator Darren Criss will headline the showtune-laden event alongside his Glee co-star and Broadway alum Lea Michele and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming. As previously reported, the festival will take place October 8 at Central Park SummerStage.

Criss, who last appeared on Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, announced the return of the concert last week with an acoustic music video of the Les Miserables anthem “I Dreamed a Dream.”

In addition to Criss, Michele, and Cumming, Elsie Fest 2017 will feature special appearances by multi-platinum recording artist Ingrid Michaelson (currently making her Broadway debut in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) and Tony nominee Norm Lewis, who can be seen Off-Broadway in the title role of Barrow Street Theatre's Sweeney Todd. Elvis Duran of Z100 will host.

“Being a ‘musical theater fan’ has never been just about loving musical theater,” said Criss in a statement. “It’s about loving the things in pop culture that inspire it, from the actors, recording artists and personalities, to the songs—which not only include Broadway and Great American Songbook classics, but hits from film, TV, radio, and the internet. Elsie Fest brings all of that together in one place. It’s a pop culture cabaret.”

Tickets will be made available with a pre-sale code August 1 at ElsieFest.com beginning at 10 AM. General on-sale begins August 4 at 11 AM. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS.

Elsie Fest is executive produced by Criss, Ricky Rollins, Jordan Roth, and Dr. Sidney J. Stern. Additional performers and special guests will be announced at a later date.
