The cabaret launches a new musical series Aug. 15 with an evening entitled The Standards. Among those scheduled to sing tunes from the Great American Songbook — including works by Gershwin, Porter, Kern, Berlin and Rodgers and Hammerstein — are Lisa Asher, Bobby Belfry, Nick Cearley, Mychelle Colleary, Brandon Cutrell, Baby Jane Dexter, David Gurland, Karen Kohler, Karen Mack, Julie Reyburn and Marcus Simeone. Show time is 7 PM. The musical series will continue Aug. 29 with The Originals. The 7 PM concert will boast new music from some of the city's up-and-coming composers. Those scheduled to perform include Bobby Belfry, Nick Cearley, Mychelle Colleary, Brandon Cutrell, Baby Jane Dexter, Mark Kessler, Karen Mack, Kate Pazakis, Julie Reyburn and Marcus Simeone.
