The Actors Fund presents the event that is produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron of "Smash." It was originally slated to take place June 15. The new June 8 date for Bombshell follows the presentation of the 69th annual Tony Awards, which will take place June 7 at Radio City Music Hall.

Bombshell, which musicalizes the life story of Marilyn Monroe, features a score by Tony Award-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Standouts from the score include "Let Me Be Your Star" and "Hang the Moon."

It is expected that the one-night-only concert, which will include all 22 songs from Bombshell, will be staged at a Broadway theatre, with cast members from "Smash," including Megan Hilty, reprising their performances. The staging will also feature choreography from the series by Emmy Award-winning "Smash" choreographer Joshua Bergasse

Bombshell was one of two musicals central to the plot of "Smash," which gave viewers a dramatically compacted (and often overly heightened) insider's glimpse of the making of a new Broadway musical.

From the casting of Marilyn, to writing, re-writing, readings, rehearsals, out-of-town tryouts, back-biting interns and opening night, "Smash" featured a host of Broadway actors for its cast, including Christian Borle, Will Chase, Ann Harada, Jeremy Jordan, Brian d'Arcy James, Andy Mientus, Krysta Rodriguez and more. Numerous Broadway figures also made cameos as themselves during the series' two-year run.

Playwright Theresa Rebeck created the series and wrote the pilot for "Smash," which set the backstage story of Bombshell in motion.

An on-sale ticket date for Bombshell will be announced shortly. Visit actorsfund.org/Bombshell.
